Introduction to division

In the division of gerontological nursing, we conduct high-quality research, disseminate our research outcomes to caregivers, nursing practitioners, and society, and work to develop human resources capable of providing first-class caregiving and nursing to the elderly and their families.
In the master's program, we place emphasis on acquiring the ability to read, understand, and disseminate high-quality research (especially for CNS program students) and the basic skills to conduct high-quality research.
In the doctoral program, we encourage students to be involved in multiple research projects while they are enrolled in the program and present their results internationally in order to acquire the ability to conduct high-quality research and disseminate outcomes widely in society. In this program in which students engage in research, our aim is to ensure that they acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out research. We want our students to be able to understand the latest research trends and social circumstances on their own while receiving guidance from faculty members.
Regarding the research activities of faculty members, as it is desirable for research on elderly care to be conducted in an interdisciplinary manner in multiple occupational fields, we also conduct joint research with experts at other universities who specialize in social welfare and law. In addition, we are also engaged in international joint research with overseas universities for the purpose of internationally disseminating knowledge on elderly caregiving in Japan as a country with a progressively aging population.
